Baby showers deserve easy, delicious food — not a stressed-out host trying to serve 25 people from a tiny kitchen. Pizza feeds a crowd, travels well, and everybody eats it. Our catering packages at Godfather’s Pizza San Antonio are built exactly for this kind of party.
Why Pizza Works for Baby Showers
Baby showers usually have a weird mix of guests — grandma, college friends, coworkers, a few kids running around. Pizza is the one food everyone agrees on. No one’s sending back a slice of the All-Meat Combo.
It’s also low-stress for the host. You don’t need chafing dishes, serving spoons, or a caterer on-site. We deliver it hot, you set it out, and your guests eat. That’s the whole plan.
Our catering setup works for parties in homes, event halls, backyards — wherever you’re hosting. If you need to feed 15 to 30 people, we’ve got packages that make the math simple.
Which Packages Work for Baby Showers?
For smaller showers — 15 to 20 guests — start with the Build Your Own Feast. The medium feeds 4-6, the large feeds 5-7. Get two or three larges and add sides, and you’ve got a full spread. Large starts at $45.99.
For bigger groups, 20 to 30 guests, the Pizza Pack is the move. It’s designed for large group orders and comes with multiple pizzas at a better value. Medium Pizza Pack is $60 and feeds 8-12; the large is $75 and feeds 12-16.
15-20 guests → 2-3 Build Your Own Feast Larges + sides
20-30 guests → 1 Large Pizza Pack + wings + breadsticks
30+ guests → Call us and we’ll build a custom order

Feeding Guests with Different Tastes
Baby showers almost always have someone with dietary preferences. Here’s how we handle it:
Cheese-only pizza works for guests who skip meat. Our Specialty Pizzas start at $13.99 and there are plenty of veggie-friendly builds. Add a Hawaiian or a Veggie Combo and you’ve got something for everyone.
Wings are a great add-on for the guests who want something more — especially the guys who show up hungry. Wings run $16.49 to $26.49 depending on size. Our sides like breadsticks and cheese bread round out the table without adding complexity.
We’ve also seen plenty of hosts pair pizza with a dessert table. Our Cinnamon Monkey Bread is a crowd favorite and fits perfectly on a shower sweets table.
How to Handle Timing and Delivery
Baby showers usually have a start time but guests trickle in. Plan to have food arrive about 20-30 minutes before guests sit down. That gives you time to set it out, cut anything that needs cutting, and look relaxed when people walk in.
For large group orders, we recommend calling ahead — especially for weekend showers. Saturdays and Sundays are busy, and we want to make sure your order is ready on time.
Call us at (210) 750-2222 to book. Tell us your headcount, the date, and any special requests. We’ll walk you through the order from there.
Crust Options for Your Baby Shower Order
One thing people don’t always think about until they’re ordering: crust type. We offer Original, Golden Crust, and Thin crust. Each one eats differently, and it’s worth knowing which one works best for a party setting.
Original crust is the classic — thick, chewy, holds up well when sitting out. Golden Crust is our buttery pan-style and is a crowd favorite if your guests lean toward that deep-dish feel. Thin crust works great if you want people to eat more variety without filling up on dough.
For baby showers where you’re serving buffet-style, Original or Golden Crust tend to hold heat better and slice cleaner for a crowd. That said — there’s no wrong answer here. Order what Mom-to-be actually likes.
What to Tell the Mom-to-Be
Here’s a small thing that makes a big difference: if the guest of honor has a favorite pizza, make sure it’s in the order. It’s a baby shower — the whole point is to make her feel celebrated. Surprising someone with their exact order from memory is a genuinely nice touch. Ask her family or a close friend if you don’t know off the top of your head.
Also worth noting: most people are hungrier than expected at a two-to-three hour afternoon event. Build in a little extra. Leftover pizza is never a tragedy.
Making the Party Feel Special
Pizza is casual, which is part of why it works. But you can still dress it up. Set out nice plates, put the pizza boxes on a folding table with a tablecloth, and add some flowers or balloons. The food doesn’t have to be fancy for the party to feel special.
Check out our party hosting guide for more ideas on how to set up a Godfather’s spread for any kind of party. And if you’ve thrown a pizza birthday before, birthday parties have a lot of overlap with showers in terms of ordering strategy.
How much pizza should I order for a baby shower with 20 guests?
Plan on 2-3 slices per person. For 20 guests, that’s about 5-6 large pizzas. Our Large Pizza Pack ($75) covers 12-16 people, so two of those plus a few wings and sides will have you in good shape with leftovers to spare.
Can I mix and match flavors in a catering order?
Yes. When you call us, just tell us which pizzas you want in your order. We can mix specialty flavors, crust types, and sizes across your catering package.
How far in advance should I order for a baby shower?
At least 24 hours for smaller orders, 48 hours for anything feeding 20 or more. Weekend showers should be booked as early in the week as possible — Saturdays especially fill up fast.
Do you deliver to event halls or just homes?
We deliver to homes, event halls, backyards, church fellowship halls — wherever the shower is. As long as it’s in our delivery area, we’ll get it there. Call us to confirm your address before you book.
Is there a minimum order for catering?
There’s no strict catering minimum, but if you’re feeding a crowd it’s worth calling us directly at (210) 750-2222 so we can make sure the order is handled correctly and arrives on time.
