Plans fall apart. Caterers cancel. Someone forgets to order food. If you need pizza today in San Antonio, call us first — we’ll tell you honestly what we can do. Same-day pizza catering is possible in most cases, with a few things you need to know before you call.
Same-day catering isn’t a guaranteed service — it depends on order size, time of day, and our current load. But we handle short-notice orders more often than you’d think. The key is calling as early as possible in the day, keeping the order size realistic, and being flexible on pickup vs. delivery. We’re at 8530 SH 151 Access Rd on the west side of San Antonio, open Sunday–Thursday 11am–9pm and Friday–Saturday 11am–10pm.
What’s Realistic for Same-Day
For orders under 15 pizzas, same-day is usually doable if you call before 2pm. We need time to prep, and lunch rush is the constraint — if you’re calling at noon and need 10 pizzas by 1:30pm, that’s tight. If you’re calling at noon for a 5pm pickup, that’s easy.
For larger orders — 15 pizzas or more — same-day is harder to guarantee. Call immediately and we’ll be straight with you about what’s possible. If we can’t do it in time, we’ll tell you upfront. Our standard catering page covers what lead times look like for planned orders of different sizes.
Short-Notice vs. True Same-Day
There’s a difference between “I need this in 2 hours” and “I found out this morning I need catering tonight.” The morning-of scenario is much easier to work with. If you know by 10am that you need 20 pizzas by 7pm, call immediately — that’s 9 hours of lead time, which is workable for most order sizes.
The 2-hour scenario is the hard one. For very large orders, that’s usually not possible. For smaller orders (5–8 pizzas), call and tell us the situation. We’ll let you know. If you’re in the middle of planning a last-minute event, the affordable catering guide has some notes on how to build a quick order that doesn’t require a lot of customization.
How to Make Same-Day Easier
Simplify the order. Same-day is not the time to get creative with complicated specialty combinations. Stick with Classic Combo, pepperoni, All Meat, and one or two specialty options. The simpler the order, the faster we can get it ready. Save the elaborate spread for when you have two days’ notice.
Also consider pickup over delivery for same-day. Pickup removes the scheduling dependency on a driver and available delivery window. If you can get here, you control the pickup time. We’re easy to reach off SH 151 — the hours and location page has directions and parking details.
Planning Ahead to Avoid the Same-Day Problem
Same-day catering works, but it’s stressful. The easy move is to order 24–48 hours in advance for anything over 10 pizzas. That gives you flexibility on crust type, specialty combos, and delivery timing. If you’ve got an event coming up this week, call now.
For recurring events — office lunches, weekly team practices, monthly meetings — see our corporate account setup. It streamlines the ordering process so you’re not scrambling every time.
Same-day window: call before 2pm for best results. We’ll tell you what we can do and give you a real answer in 2 minutes.
Can you do same-day pizza catering for a work event?
Yes, often. Call as early in the day as possible and tell us your headcount and target time. For groups under 20, same-day is usually workable with a few hours of lead time. For larger groups, the earlier you call the better.
What happens if you can’t do same-day?
We’ll tell you straight — no runaround. If we can’t get your order ready in time, we’ll give you the earliest window we can commit to so you can make a decision. We’d rather be honest than overpromise.
Is there a minimum order for same-day catering?
No formal minimum. Regular menu pricing applies. Call and tell us what you need — small or large, we’ll work with you on what’s feasible for the day.
