Friday night means no cooking. No dishes. No “what do you want for dinner” back-and-forth. It means pizza — and Godfather’s San Antonio has been the answer to that question since we came back to the west side. Call it a family pizza tradition or just call it survival mode. Either way, we’ve got you covered.
Why Friday Night Is Pizza Night
By the time Friday rolls around, everyone in the house is done. The kids are done with school. You’re done with work. Nobody wants to stand over a stove, and nobody wants to argue about where to eat. That’s exactly where Godfather’s fits in — no hassle, no cleanup, just food that everyone actually wants to eat.
Pizza is the one thing that makes everyone happy. The 8-year-old wants pepperoni. Your spouse wants something loaded. You want wings. Maybe grandma’s over and she just wants something simple. Friday night pizza solves all of those problems in one order, delivered to your door or ready for pickup right here on 151.
We’ve seen it happen with hundreds of families on the west side. They try it once — maybe it was a week when nobody had the energy to cook — and suddenly it becomes the thing the kids ask about on Thursday. “Is it pizza night tomorrow?” That’s when you know you’ve got a real tradition going.
We’re also open late on Fridays because we know how this works. Last-minute orders, game nights that run long, families who finally made up their mind at 8pm. We’re ready for it. You shouldn’t have to plan your Friday around the restaurant. The restaurant should be ready for your Friday.
The Perfect Friday Order
If you’re feeding the family and want to keep it easy, start with one of our Feasts. The Build Your Own Feast (Mediums) — a medium specialty pizza, a medium 1-topping pizza, and a side — comes in at $35.99 and feeds 4–6 people. Step up to larges and it’s $45.99, feeding 5–7. That’s two full pizzas and a side for a family without breaking the bank on a Friday.
Want wings in the mix? The Pizza and Wing Feast (Mediums) is $45.99 — same two pizzas plus a full order of wings. Get the large version for $55.99. That is the Friday night move when people are actually hungry and you don’t want anyone raiding the pantry an hour after dinner. Our best sides can round out the order even more — the potato wedges and cheesesticks don’t last long at the table.
For specialty picks, the All-Meat Combo is the Friday standard. Ham, pepperoni, bacon, beef, Italian sausage, and sausage on one pie. It’s built for people who mean business. The Classic Combo — pepperoni, beef, sausage, black olives, mushrooms, and onions — is the crowd-pleaser if you’ve got a mix of picky and adventurous eaters at the table. And if you haven’t tried the Taco Pie yet, Friday night is the night. Taco sauce, seasoned beef, lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar and mozzarella. It’s one of our top picks for a reason — once people try it, they order it every time.
If you want to go big, the Super Combo is the next level up from the Classic — ham, pepperoni, beef, sausage, black olives, green peppers, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, mozzarella, and extra cheddar. It’s the pizza you make when you want everyone to stop talking and just eat.
Not sure which crust to go with? Golden crust is the classic Friday choice — thick, buttery, and it holds up to a full load of toppings without falling apart. Our crust options page breaks down every choice if you want to compare before you order. First timers usually go Golden. People who know what they’re doing also usually go Golden.
Make It a Ritual
The families who do this every week will tell you — Friday pizza night stops being a decision and starts being a given. The kids start looking forward to it on Thursday. You stop thinking about it and just order. That’s the goal, and it doesn’t take long to get there.
A few things that make it stick:
- Lock in your order. Find what works for your family and own it. When Friday comes, one person calls it in, no discussion needed. Same pizza, same sides, same wings. Consistency is the whole point of a tradition.
- Movie night combo. A large pizza plus wings is the perfect movie night combo. Pick the movie before you order so it’s queued up and ready when the food arrives. No waiting around, no “we can’t decide what to watch.”
- Game night pairing. Board games, cards, dominoes — pizza pairs with anything that keeps everyone at the table. Cut the pizza into smaller slices so people can grab a piece without stopping the game. Wings work the same way.
- Give the kids a vote. Let them pick one topping. One specialty pizza from the menu. Whatever gets them invested in the meal means no complaints at the table. Works every time.
- Dessert is non-negotiable. The Cinnamon Monkey Bread ($7.79) is warm, pull-apart, coated in cinnamon sugar with an icing drizzle. Add it when you order — it bakes alongside everything and comes out ready to eat. It is gone before the movie gets to the second act. The Big Chocolate Chip Cookie at $7.79 is the other option if your crew leans more cookie than bread.
If the Spurs are playing on a Friday — and in San Antonio, that’s always a possibility — order early. Wings go fast on game days and we don’t want you stuck waiting when tip-off is 20 minutes away. Order online, set your pickup time, and you’re in the clear.
Veteran-Owned and proud to serve the JBSA community. If you’re stationed at Lackland or Fort Sam and looking for a go-to Friday spot that’s close to base, you’ve found it. We know how the schedule works and we’re right here when the week ends.
The full picture of everything we offer — every pizza, every side, every price — is on our full menu page. No surprises, no guessing, no finding out something’s $5 more than you thought when you get to the register.
How late are you open on Friday nights?
We stay open late on Fridays to handle the evening crowd. Call us at (210) 750-2222 or check our current hours online — we update it when things change. Most Fridays you’ve got plenty of time well into the evening to get an order in.
Do you deliver on Friday nights in San Antonio?
Yes. Delivery is available on Fridays across our west San Antonio delivery zone. Order online and you’ll see an estimated time before you confirm. Peak hours run from about 6 to 8pm on Fridays, so placing your order a little early gets your food there faster and hotter.
What’s the best value for a family on Friday night?
The Build Your Own Feast (Mediums) at $35.99 feeds 4–6 and gives you a specialty pizza, a 1-topping pizza, and a side. If your family eats more or you want wings in the order, the Pizza and Wing Feast (Larges) at $55.99 feeds 5–7 and covers everything. Both are a better deal than ordering individual items.
Do you have desserts to add to a Friday night order?
Four options: Cinnamon Monkey Bread, Caramel Monkey Bread, Dessert Streusels, and a Big Chocolate Chip Cookie — all $7.79. Add one at checkout and it comes out with your order. The Cinnamon Monkey Bread is the most popular on Friday nights, but they’re all worth trying.
