Post-game pizza is one of San Antonio’s best traditions. Win or lose, the team eats together — and pizza is the one food every kid on the roster actually wants. Whether it’s Little League, soccer, flag football, basketball, or volleyball, here’s how to order the right amount and make the post-game feel like a real celebration.
We’ve fed a lot of youth sports teams in San Antonio. The energy is always the same: kids who just played their hearts out, parents who need food too, and coaches who are ready to decompress. Pizza is the fastest, easiest, most universally accepted answer. We’re at 8530 SH 151 Access Rd — right off SH 151, easy to get to after games at most west-side parks and fields.
How Much Pizza for a Youth Sports Team
Youth sports rosters typically run 10–18 kids, plus parents and siblings. A team of 15 kids with family in tow is usually 40–60 people total. Plan for 2 slices per person and you’ll land in the right zone — kids just off the field tend to eat more, not less.
For a team of 15 players plus 30–40 family members: 55–65 slices needed. That’s 7–9 large pizzas. Rounding up to 8–10 is the right move. The Pizza Pack makes this easy — 4 large pizzas for $75. Two packs covers 20–25 people. Three packs handles a team with families cleanly.
What to Order for a Team Party
Keep it kid-friendly. Pepperoni and Classic Combo are the two anchors. If you know your team’s preferences, add one specialty pie — but don’t overthink it. Post-game kids are not picky. They’re hungry. A table full of pepperoni pizzas will disappear faster than you think.
Cheese pizzas are essential if you’ve got any dietary restrictions on the team. Every youth sports roster has at least one kid who only eats cheese pizza. Ordering one cheese for every three or four other pies covers that base. Our crust guide breaks down the options so you can mix it up — thin crust moves faster at team parties because it’s lighter and kids can eat more of it.
Timing the Order Around Game Schedule
San Antonio youth sports games run on their own timeline. Call your order in at least 2–3 hours before the scheduled game end time. If the game runs long or finishes early, call ahead to adjust the pickup or delivery time. We’d rather you call to push back 30 minutes than show up to cold pizza.
For end-of-season parties or tournaments where you need a bigger spread, see our catering page for how to coordinate a larger order with proper lead time. End-of-season parties for competitive leagues can get up to 60–80 people — that needs a proper catering conversation.
Adding Sides for the Team
After a game, kids want more than pizza. Breadsticks, potato wedges, and wings round out the spread and give energy-burned players something to refuel on. Our wings guide covers the order sizes — getting a few pounds of wings alongside the pizza turns a team pizza party into a proper post-game feast.
For Military families on the team — JBSA personnel have kids in every youth sports league in San Antonio — we’re Veteran-Owned and proud to be part of that community. Your team’s order gets the same care as any order we do.

Can you deliver to parks and sports complexes in San Antonio?
We deliver to addresses, not parks directly. The easiest option for team parties is pickup — have a parent grab the order on the way from the game. Call us at (210) 750-2222 and we’ll help you coordinate the timing.
How do I handle paying for a team pizza party?
Most teams collect a few dollars per family at the beginning of the season. For a team of 15 with $5 per family, that’s $75 — exactly one Pizza Pack. Call ahead and we can take payment over the phone when you place the order.
What’s the best crust type for kids?
Thin crust goes faster at team parties — it’s lighter and kids tend to eat more slices. Original crust is the default and works well too. Our golden crust has a buttery finish that adults tend to appreciate. Call and we can mix crust types across different pies in the same order.
