Knowing which pizza size to order before you place the order saves time, money, and the awkward “we ordered too much / not enough” conversation after. Here’s a straight breakdown of every size we offer at Godfather’s Pizza San Antonio — what you get, how many people it feeds, and when to order which.
We offer pizzas in four sizes: Personal, Medium, Large, and Jumbo. Not every specialty is available in every size, but our most popular builds are available across the full range. Here’s how to choose.
Personal Pizza
The personal is a one-person pie — roughly 6 inches depending on the build. It’s designed for a single meal. It’s not a snack. You order a personal when you want your own pizza and you don’t want to share. It’s the best option for picky eaters in a group order, for a solo lunch, or for a kid who needs their own cheese pizza untouched by toppings.
Personal pizzas are available for most of our specialty builds. They’re priced as individual orders, not as a deal — for cost efficiency, medium and large sizes give you more per dollar. But when the right call is “one pizza for one person,” the personal is exactly right.
Medium Pizza
The medium is a 2–3 person pizza. If you’re ordering for a couple or a small family, two mediums covers it cleanly and gives you variety across both pies. The medium size is also what you get in the Pizza Pack at 4 mediums for $60 — the best deal on the menu for that size.
Medium is the sweet spot for most households ordering for 3–5 people. Two mediums for $30–$44 depending on specialty type gives a group enough to eat without a significant amount of leftovers. The thin crust option in medium size is a good choice when you want the full pizza experience without the heaviness of the thicker original crust.
Large Pizza
The large is the standard catering and group order size. It’s the 8-slice pizza you’re thinking of when you think “large pizza.” For groups of 4–6, one large each of two different pies is the right order. For catering, the large is the default unit — our pizza count guide uses large pizzas as the baseline for all sizing math.
Large pizzas are available in all three crust types — original, golden, and thin. For groups, the original and golden crusts hold up better over time. Thin crust large pizzas cut faster and are lighter per slice, which is an advantage at events where people want to eat a few slices over several hours.
Jumbo Pizza
The jumbo is for serious situations. It’s the biggest pizza we offer — 10+ slices depending on the build — and it’s the right call when you need maximum coverage from a single pie. For a family of 6 that wants one pizza with no leftovers calculation, the jumbo is the answer. For catering events, a jumbo is the anchor piece of a spread — one or two jumbos surrounded by larges makes a visual statement at any food table.
Jumbos are available on most of our specialty builds. For the Classic Combo, the Taco Pie, and the All Meat Combo, the jumbo is worth it if you’re feeding 5+ people from a single pie.
Which Size for Which Situation
Solo order: Personal or Small. Couple: 1 Large split or 2 Mediums. Family of 4: 1–2 Larges. Group of 8–10: 3 Larges. Catering for 20+: Large or Jumbo mix depending on budget. For detailed group sizing, our guides on ordering for 10 people and catering for 50 give you exact numbers at every scale.
Best size value: the Pizza Pack (4 Mediums for $60 or 4 Larges for $75) beats individual pricing at every volume level. If you’re ordering more than 2 pizzas, the Pack is the move.
How many slices does a large Godfather’s Pizza have?
A large pizza has approximately 8 slices. The exact count can vary slightly by crust type and how it’s cut, but 8 is the working number for ordering purposes. A jumbo is cut into 10+ slices depending on the build.
Is a jumbo pizza worth it over two larges?
It depends on your priorities. A jumbo from one build gives you consistency — all the same toppings, one flavor. Two larges give you variety. For a group that agrees on one pizza, the jumbo is the better value per slice. For a group with mixed preferences, two larges is the right call.
What’s the best size pizza for meal prep leftovers?
A large is ideal for meal prep. A solo or couple order of a large gives you 4–6 leftover slices that reheat well the next day. See our reheating guide for the best way to bring them back to life.
